I saw this excerpt and immediately took it to heart. Lately, I have felt the urge to say, "Well...maybe not..maybe later. No, I'm tired." Yes to clearing out half the junk in the house. Yes to getting out and to new experiences. Yes to trips and to seeing family. Yes to losing weight. I went to my first High School Football Game and Basktetball game to listen to Katherine play in the jazz band and ended up enjoying the games even more (well, the basketball anyway!). I've been saying yes a lot lately to things I wouldn't have even discussed with myself a year ago and feel the density peeling off of me layer by layer.
Say Yes:
“Find a way to say yes to things. Say yes to invitations to a new country, say yes to meet new friends, say yes to learn something new. Yes is how you get your first job, and your next job, and your spouse, and even your kids.” —Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google
Saying yes is how I got a pilot's license, lived in Norway, became friends with Glenn, moved to Europe with Glenn with an 8 month old baby girl! Saying yes is how I can feel OK about the time I spent with Denise those last 2 years even though it was so hard at the time. Imagine how bad it would be to look back now if Glenn and I had said no and she had stayed in that nursing home. Saying yes is how I ended up here unexpectedly perched above our Whitetail woods looking over the incredible Palouse country. Saying yes is how I got the best things that have ever happened in my life so far: K & S.
